Under the WEE Project, Tamar Shubitidze had the Opportunity to Learn English

"I am so happy you are helping women and support their economic empowerment”.

Tamar Shubitidze is a mother of three children who lives in the village of Sviri in Akhaltsikhe with her husband and mother and father-in-laws. Because she has a large family she does all her best to support her family financially. That is why she decided to participate in the project "Women`s Economic Empowerment through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building" implemented in Georgia by Kakheti Regional Development Foundation (KRDF), Taso Foundation (TF), and CARE International in the Caucasus (CARE) with support of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).

With the help of the project, Tamar received an economic grant and decided to run a guesthouse. But it was not enough to achieve the success – Tamar`s guesthouse is located in a tourist area and therefore, she will welcome the guests from all over the world. To communicate with tourists, she needed the English language. That is why, within the framework of the same project, Tamar has finished a 3 months English course at Akhaltsikhe Adult Education Center and is very pleased with the result. The learning process was very convenient and interesting for her. The teachers were also very educated and   experienced.

“I didn`t know English at all and now I can communicate with people a little bit. But I learned all the necessary things I needed as a beginner.  Now I can improve my English online”.
