Naira Chkadua lives in the village of Khaishi in Tetritskaro Municipality and is mainly engaged in the production of dairy products. Particularly she produced cheese “Sulguni” and sells them. As there was a high demand on Naira`s “Sulguni”, she wanted to expand the production. That is why Naira participated in the Women`s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women. With the help of the project Naira purchased the necessary inventory and expanded “Sulguni” production.
Naira`s “Sulguni” is made in healthy environment and has quite a lot of consumers. In addition Naira sells her cheese in several supermarkets of Tbilisi. In the future, Naira wants to arrange a space for her activity according the European standards to become licensed cheese producer.
The project “Women`s Economic Empowerment through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building” is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), implemented in Georgia by Kakheti Regional Development Foundation (KRDF), Taso Foundation (TF), and CARE International in the Caucasus (CARE).
