Eter Khatidze is involved in beekeeping activities in the village of Toloshi, Aspindza municipality. She and her family are quite experienced in this field, so Eter wanted to expand. That is why she participated in the Women`s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women.
With the help of the project, Eter purchased nine bee families and actively started some activities for development the business. She mainly produces honey, honeycomb and candle. Eter offers natural and delicious products to the customers. In addition, she can also produce bee milk and other medicinal products due to the demand of costumers.
In the future, Eter is thinking about expanding and diversifying her services. For this, among additional finances she needs an extractor as well.
The project “Women’s Economic Empowerment through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building” is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), implemented in Georgia by Kakheti Regional Development Foundation (KRDF), Taso Foundation (TF), and CARE International in the Caucasus (CARE).
