Mzekala Surmanidze is an active woman from the village of Khertvisi in Aspindza municipality. Mzekala always wanted to have her own business and income, and help her family. That is why she participated in the Women`s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women.
With the help of the project Mzekala purchased 25 rabbits. She feeds rabbits with healthy food and takes care of them. There is a high demand on rabbits in the region, especially from restaurants. In the future Mzekala is going to expand and breed the rabbits.
For business development she needs certain resources: thin planks for cages, special additional food for rabbits.
