Anusia Zurebiani is a mother of a young child from the village of Khaishi, Tetritskaro municipality. Her family`s main activity is householding. As Anusia takes care of her family`s well-being, she always wanted to start an additional business. Because the chickens imported from other villages could not live long, Anusia decided to arrange her own place and raise healthy chickens.
To implement her initiative, Anusia participated in the Women`s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women. With the help of the project, she purchased the necessary equipment and gradually began to think about developing activities. Anusia vaccinates her chickens according the advice given from a vet and then sells them to the locals.
The project “Women`s Economic Empowerment through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building” is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), implemented in Georgia by Kakheti Regional Development Foundation (KRDF), Taso Foundation (TF), and CARE International in the Caucasus (CARE).
