Liana Melikidze lives in the village of Toloshi in Aspindza municipality. Her main concern is the well-being of the family. That is why Liana participated in the Women`s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women.
With the help of the project, Liana bought a cow with a calf and actively started producing dairy products. At this time, Liana produces natural, delicious cheese.
Liana plans to increase and expand her production in the future. Along with cheese, she wants to produce milk, sour milk and other dairy products, and then sell them in the local market. To carry out her plans, Liana needs at least one additional cow.
The project “Women’s Economic Empowerment through Social Mobilization and Capacity Building” is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), implemented in Georgia by Kakheti Regional Development Foundation (KRDF), Taso Foundation (TF), and CARE International in the Caucasus (CARE).
