Name : Khatuna`s Raspberry Garden

Khatuna Gelashvili lives in the village of Sviri, Akhaltsikhe municipality. She always cares about her family’s well-being and wanted to help it financially with additional activities. That is why Khatuna participated in the Women’s Economic Empowerment project supported by UN Women.

With the help of the project, Khatuna purchased raspberry seedlings and expanded the production. She is quite experienced in the production and sale of raspberries and has customers from different villages. In addition, Khatuna also makes raspberry jam and collaborates with several markets.

In the future, Khatuna still wants to expand raspberry production and attract more customers. Her only problem is the variability of the weather as hail and drought damage her raspberry seedlings and therefore Khatuna can`t develop her business. So she needs some finances to insure raspberry seedlings and successfully continue her activities.
