Cooperative "Farmer 2015" was created in Abasha municipality in 2015 and consists of 14 members. The cooperative works on annual crops. Besides, its members practice livestock breeding and manage to provide food for livestock with their common work.
Out of the cooperative's owned land, the cooperative produces corn, soya, wheat. Its members also own nut plantation and alfalfa, which they use for feeding their livestock in wintertime. Gradually, the cooperative thinks to expand its livestock and build more animal farms.
Before forming a cooperative, its members worked together, but the outdated techniqual equipment made it difficult to cultivate the soil and follow proper timing in agricultural work. After engaging in the ENPARD cooperatives project, the cooperative received a tractor, and sewing equipment. Sewing became much easier and it was reflected on total amount of production. "Farmer 2015" also started to include not only local but hybrid varieties and received good results.
The cooperative also purchased hay pressing euqipment to prepare hay for animal feeding. If before, 4-5 members only could gain excess production, this number has increased, and in 2016 the cooperative could feed their animals entirely wuth their own production.
In the future, the cooperative plans to expand its work and engage other locals from the village.
