"Samegobro" is a cooperative located in a high village of Chkhakaura at Chokhatauri municipality, producing a trout in ecological environment. The trout farm exists since 2005. Although the location was a big advantage, development of the farm didn't became possible, due to absence of financial and technical resources.
Since 2014, after participating in the cooperatives project, 'samegobro" receved a truck for transportation, the pool was renovated and fish fry farm built. Additionally, a touristic cottage was built at the farm territory. Since forming a cooperative, it has become easier for "Samegobro" to establish links and communicate with potential buyers. The cooperative is official supplier for the several organizations.
The biggest advantage for the cooperative is a natural environment, quality of water and the ecological trout, raised in natural spring water. That's why the demand on cooperative's products is so high.
Along with development, the demand and necessities have also icnreased and the cooperative members think how to expand their farm, in order to satisfy the demand on trout and employ more people.
The main barrier for developing a trout business is a road leading to the fish farm, which is in a bad condition and needs rehabilitation, that requires financial resources that the cooperative doesn't have. Additionally, the cooperative plans to expand their trout pools to produce more and become a steady supplier for local buyers. Members of "Samegobro" also wish to build additional cottage houses for attracting tourists. Currently, only one cottage house is built on the territory and "Samegobro" wants to add one more. The visitors will have opportunity to relax in nature and taste ecological trout.
