Name : Zeskho

The cooperative "Zeskho" is located in the highest point of all cooperatives in Georgia. Zeskho is the village in Lentekhi municipality, where  only 5-6 families live, the village gets completely empty during the wintertime. Creation of the cooperative motivates the local population to develop their business locally.

For "Zeskho", potato production is the oldest family tradition, as the livestock breeding and potato production was the main work for the locals here.  But as the cooperative says this was more "wild practical experience". As time has passed, the development would be impossible with only physical work. Mechanization was important and it was managed through the cooperatives program. The cooperative received the necessary machines: a tractor, cultivator and other equiment. Its members also gained more theoretical knowledge, which gave stimulus for developing their work.

Currently, the cooperative which consists of 9 members tries to do an useful work in their area and overcome the difficulties: the strict climate conditions, bad road conditions. The main barrier is the severe climate of mountains, but the cooperative, with their enthusiasm and support by others, works to overcome them. The enthusiasm helps "Zeskho" increase their production and income.

One of the most important apsect is development  of a cooperative in the highest point of Georgia, that can help the overall development of the region. The members of the cooperative try to make their work attractive for locals and increase their enthusiasm to produce local products. Their main desire is to develop the area such a way to reduce the migration from Zeskho village.
