Cooperative "Farmer 2015" was created in 2015 in the Abasha municipality and consists of 14 members. Cooperative works mainly on adult cereal crops. In addition, the cooperative members have cattle and have been able to store the harvested crops for cattle feeding.
At 52 hectares , of cooperative land, member farmers cultivate corn and wheat. They also have a alfalfa, which is used for winter feed of cattle. Members of the cooperative also have hazelnut plantations.
Before forming as a cooperative, member farmers had many years of working experience, but though the old techniques could not be properly cultivated and the agrarian protection was impossible. After engaging in the ENPARD project, the cooperative acquired a tractor which facilitated timelly cultivation of land which also reflected on the product quality and quantity .
"Farmer 2015" moved from local to hybrid varieties and received good results. With the help of the project they were able to grow wheat and alfalfa.
As far as the production of cooperative products is grown every year, it is necessary to arrange a common storage system where the harvest is obtained and then realized at high prices.
It is noteworthy that the cooperative activity has also resulted in another outcome. The number of people willing to join the cooperative is increasing annually.
