Beekeeping Cooperative "Nektari 2016" was formed in 2016 in Zugdidi municipality and unites 12 local farmers, 5 of them are women.
The members of the cooperative take care of the bees and produce various products from them.
In addition, they are quite experienced in taking bee venom and dust. Their main goal is to produce and sell natural and delicious products.
The products produced by "Nektari 2016" are characterized by many useful properties and are quite popular among the consumers.
The members of the cooperative are always trying to develop, introduce new approaches and expand production. Therefore, they are participating in various supportive programs, including a program to promote the development of beekeeping cooperatives and the USAID program.
Currently, the cooperative takes care of 400 bee families. The inventory owned by “Nektari 2016”, such as a bee-moving trailer, an electric filter and a device for mother bees, helps members of the cooperative run their business more efficiently.
In the future, the cooperative plans to set up a stationary bee hive in the mountains and bars. Consequently, bio will start to produce honey, which will further diversify its activities and bring more benefits to the local population.
