Name : Nagomari

The success of the cooperative "Nagomari" gave stimulus to the local population to engage in the rehabilitation process of tea plantations in village Nagomari, Guria It's not surprising as the tea has been the most spread culture in the whole Guria region, including the village "Nagomari".

The cooperative was formed three years ago. After engaging in the project for cooperatives, "Nagomari" purchased a fermentation and package equipment, for producing the black and green tea. The cooperative also received a car for transportation. Besides, the tea plantations on 12 ha territory were rehabilitated-pesticized and restored. This is just the beginning of the process. The cooperative plans to strengthen tea culture in the village and is convinced, that rehabilitation will result in increased production in coming years.

Along with the production, the number of clients increases. That's why the technological imporvement for better quality is important for a cooperative. The village has a large potential to produce tea. After hearing about cooperative's success there's a high interest from locals to join the cooperative. "Nagomari" already employed 35 households in rehabilitation process during one season. Now, people in the villageare motivated to work in tea sector and engage in rehabilitation process.The cooperative is enthusastically sharing its experience.

The main challenge for "Nagomari" is to have a better factory, close to european standards that will enable the cooperative to produce in good conditions. For this they need more support and resources. The cooperative also aims to create fruitful partnerships around tea sector to help them succeed.
